Child Care Subsidy Entitlements

Australia’s child care package includes the new Child Care Subsidy (CCS). The subsidy is the main way the government assists families with their childcare fees and it is paid directly to services, with families making a co-contribution to their childcare fees. Some basic requirements must be satisfied for an individual to be eligible to receive the Child Care Subsidy for a child. These include:

  • The age of the child
  • The child meeting immunisation requirements
  • The individual, or their partner, meeting the residency requirements listed in the legislation.

Utilising yours and your child’s CRN we will be able to apply the subsidy to your account if applicable. If you are unsure of the CRN details, please contact Centrelink on 136 150

For more information about Child Care Subsidy and to complete your Activity test please follow the steps in your myGov log in.

You will need to do this prior to enrolment.

What to bring?

We encourage all children to bring a back pack that has a change of clothes, a drink bottle and any specific comfort items. For our younger children, they may also require formula and their bottles.

Orientation

We actively encourage all new families to participate in our orientation program prior to their first day. Orientation supports and aids families to transition smoothly into the service and discover more about the Centre. It provides an opportunity for families to meet the educators and to discuss a multitude of questions that you may have. It is also designed to be relaxed and flexible giving the child and family an opportunity to observe and participate in the new environment.

 Nutritious Meals

At Carrum Downs Early Learning we offer breakfast (until 8am), Morning tea, Lunch and Afternoon tea for our children.

In line with our health and safety standards, we do not permit food from home. All meals are freshly prepared in our Centre kitchen by our Centre Chef.

Carrum Downs Early Learning Menu has been developed with a focus on nutritional guidelines and minimal use of sugar and salt.

Our younger children who are transitioning to solid food, are supported by puree or mashed foods made with fresh ingredients by the Centre Chef.
